Pictures for "КВИР" Magazine 2006-2008

This photographic series was created between 2006 and 2008 in Crimea, before the russian occupation. Commissioned by the influential queer magazine KВИР, these works capture a rare and open moment in time — when visibility, vulnerability, and quiet defiance coexisted in post-Soviet queer life.

Shot entirely on film, the portraits combine documentary sensibility with poetic intimacy. Each image reflects a fragile freedom, where bodies and landscapes speak of both personal truth and social tension. This series is not only a tribute to queer resilience, but also a historical document from a region that has since been irrevocably changed.
